3 Favorite Grilled Dishes Every Dad Wants to Eat on Father’s Day

If your dad likes to grill, chances are he loves the classics, nothing too fancy and nothing too experimental. Prepare a couple of good heavy grilled meats then add a twist for a personal touch.

Grilled ribs with whiskey

What do you need:

  • 1 kilogram. slab of pork ribs

  • 1 1/2 cups of water

  • 1/2 cup onion, minced

  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup of white sugar

  • 1/2 cup tomato paste

  • 2 1/2 tbsp. honey

  • 2 1/4 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 2 tbsp. English sauce

  • 1 tablespoon. + 1/2 tablespoon ground red pepper

  • 1 tablespoon. dark molasses

  • 2 teaspoons whiskey

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke aroma

  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper

Cut each full rack of ribs in two for four half racks. Season the ribs with salt and pepper, sprinkle with 1 Tbsp. red bell pepper and then wrap in heavy duty aluminum foil. Bake in a preheated oven (150 degrees Celsius) for 2 1/2 hours. While waiting, heat the oil in a medium saucepan and cook the onions until tender. Add water, black and white sugars, tomato paste, honey, Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 Tbsp. red pepper, 2 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper, whiskey, garlic powder, liquid aroma of smoke and paprika. Bring the mixture to a boil and then lower the heat. Cook over low heat, uncovered, 1 1/4 hours or until sauce thickens, then set aside. When the ribs are done, remove them from the foil and cook on a preheated grill over high heat for 3-4 minutes per side. Spread with the marinade when it’s almost done.

Classic grilled pizza

What do you need:

  • 1 prepared pizza dough

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup tomato sauce

  • 1/2 cup sliced ​​fresh mushrooms

  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped

  • 1 white onion, cut into rings

Lightly grease the grill grates and cook the prepared pizza dough over high heat for 5 minutes, then flip. Spread tomato sauce evenly over base, top with mozzarella cheese, then top with mushrooms, bell pepper, and onion rings. Cover grill and cook 8-10 minutes over high heat or until cheese is melted. Serve immediately.

Grilled Chili Dog Burger

What do you need:

  • 1/2 kg. Ground beef

  • 6 hot dog buns

  • 6 slices of American cheese

  • 3 dill pickles, cut into strips lengthwise

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 2 cups of chile (without beans)

  • 1 tablespoon. chopped onion

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • Salt and pepper to taste

In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, garlic, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form 6 thin patties. Cook patties on a preheated grill over high heat for 2-3 minutes per side or until done. Top each burger with a slice of cheese for the last minute of cooking.
