Benefits of Getting Automated Commercial Auto Parking Systems

The obvious benefit of automated parking systems is the ability to accommodate more cars in less space, which can solve many parking problems, but there are many other benefits to the developer, operator, consumer, and society at large. For example, consider the countless acres of open space that are occupied by parking lots. Self-parking ramp garages are more efficient, but still take up twice the space of an automated commercial parking facility. In contrast, automated residential or commercial garages are a green solution as they preserve open space, have low energy consumption and are carbon neutral, because vehicles are turned off before they park in the system.

The mechanical system works on the same principle as a high bay storage system and is very user friendly for customers. The entire operation seen in typical automatic car parking systems can be shown in the following simple steps:

1. The customer parks his vehicle in a large delivery room, just as he would in his home garage. But the advantage of this parking system is that a parking aid will provide accurate information about whether the car is in the correct position. The vehicle is then measured and weighed.

2. Customer leaves the vehicle, answers three short questions at a terminal in a side room, and receives a ticket. What happens next happens automatically.

3. After the sensors have verified that there are no people or animals left in the vehicle, the car and the pallet it is parked on are moved to the transport unit and realigned.

4. The use of a pallet system avoids any damage to the vehicle since it is not touched at any time during the parking process. After the vehicle is realigned, it is transported to an empty parking space within the rack system.

5. When the customer returns, he must pay the parking fee at the payment machine. Once paid, the transport unit removes the car from its rack and returns it to the delivery room.

6. The customer then enters the delivery room and takes the car out without having to back up as the vehicle is already positioned in the correct direction.

Automated car parking systems: how it works

Once the customer has dropped off their vehicle in the drop room, a crane mechanism turns the car in the correct direction and transports it to the racking system, where the vehicle is safely deposited in an empty parking unit.

The unique feature of this mechanical system is that even the space between the delivery room and the destination can be used to store cars, since it consists of a rack of mobile parking units. This patented combination of fixed and mobile racks allows the automated car parking system to achieve the maximum amount of parking space for any building, ensuring high-capacity parking in minimal floor space.

When the customer comes to pick up his car, he is informed in which delivery room the vehicle will appear. The system then retrieves the car and returns it to the drop room with the front of the vehicle facing the exit, allowing the customer to exit directly from the automated system.
