In the movie Fight Club, Brad Pitt had an average build when it came to muscle size, but his muscle tone was exceptional! In fact, if you’ve been lifting weights for a period of time, you probably have more muscle size than Brad Pitt in Fight Club. Women seem to prefer this body type to an overly muscular body almost 100% of the time. If you want to impress guys in the gym, then of course, gain a ton of muscle mass. If you want to impress women, then go for that slim Fight Club style.
Don’t kid yourself … It’s harder to lose weight than to gain weight!
The guys at the gym never cease to amaze me. They are very impressed by those bulky bodybuilders who lift heavy weights, but have very little tone. I hear it all the time … “that guy can bench 405 for 6 reps” … “that guy has 20 inch arms” … etc. Most of these big guys never get low enough body fat percentages to see great muscle tone. I keep my body fat levels at 6% year-round and I don’t get a lot of respect from the guys in the gym, but the girls pay a lot of attention to me. Honestly, getting big requires very little self-discipline. If you progressively lift heavier weights in the 6-12 rep range and eat like a pig, you will get bigger!
Being too big will make you look cheesy!
I hate tearing bodybuilders so much, but can we remove the Everlast clown pants? Seriously, you have to know what I’m talking about. What about those guys who wear those spandex pants or tank tops that they cut to make them smaller? Is there a worse group in terms of style than bodybuilders? Style is very important to women. If you grow too big, you can’t even wear regular jeans. Big boys also look stupid when they try to dress up. You can never look GQ or trendy if you are too big. Don’t be mad at me if you’re big, I’m only here to help you.
A simple plan to get a lean “fight club body”.
Hopefully I have persuaded some people to take off their clown pants and return to a reality where women will talk to you again. It is simple, but not easy, to obtain a Fight Club Corps. I would recommend workouts with only 20 minutes of lifting followed by 40-60 minutes of cardio. Make sure to start your cardio session with a high intensity interval training. If you don’t know how to do cardio that way, just Google that term. Low intensity cardio only works to bring you down to around 10 to 12 percent body fat, if you want to really get toned you will have to work hard on the cardio. When it comes to eating, don’t be obsessed with protein. You don’t need a ton of protein to maintain a lean body. The main thing is to keep the total calories consumed below what you burn. I weigh around 185 pounds and consume around 1500-1800 calories per day spread over 3 meals. Whenever I do the 6 meal approach, I can’t keep the calories low enough to lose body fat. If you can eat 6 smaller meals and keep the calories low, then you can use that approach.
This is to achieve a Fight Club Body!
