HTC Desire C

Not everyone spends a fortune to get a smartphone and HTC recognized it well in advance compared to the other mobile phone companies. HTC is a company that focuses on offering high-end phones at very affordable prices. HTC started its low-end segment models with HTC Tattoo, followed by Wildfire and Wildfire S. But all of these phones always had a gap and lacked powerful performance. To fill this gap, HTC released HTC Desire C which comes with Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and is packed with many other features. Let’s see what this incredible phone has in store for us.

Software and Apps: HTC Desire C runs on the latest Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system from Google. This definitely comes as a fresh breeze when almost every second phone on the market is powered by the Gingerbread operating system. Equipped with Google’s ICS user interface and HTC Sense 4.0, in fact, Desire C is the most desired budget mobile in the industry. The user interface is very fluid and you can customize your home page by choosing from a variety of widgets. This mobile comes with a combination of preloaded Google applications and third party widgets such as Dropbox, SoundHound and 7Digital. You even have the ability to resize the widgets so you can decide how much size they can take up on the screen.

Build and Design: Unlike previous HTC phones, the HTC Desire C is compact and feels great when held. With dimensions of 60 X 107 mm, this mobile looks a lot like a credit card but with a thickness of 12.5 mm. The phone looks very nice and the front navigation keys immediately attract you. The only negative is that the phone uses more plastic and therefore the case is prone to fingerprints. The volume rocker and the power lock key are well placed. Little details like the red frame that surrounds the camera lens and the silver frame that surrounds the screen give the HTC Desire C a really beautiful look. The screen of the phone is 3.5 inches long and has a resolution of 480X320.

Performance and hardware: HTC Desire C does not fall under the super-fast smartphone category. This phone is equipped with a 600 MHz single core CPU with 512 MB of RAM. Performance is slow at times when multitasking. The phone runs games like Angry Birds and Temple run without any difficulty, but when it comes to games like Fruit Ninja, the phone takes too long to charge. HTC Desire C comes with a 4GB built-in memory, however it can be increased up to 32GB with micro SDHC cards. Additionally, HTC offers two years of free 25GB cloud storage with the Dropbox app.

Camera: This phone comes with a 5 MP camera. Being a low-end segment phone, HTC Desire C lacks a front camera, an LED flash, and a sensor. However, the camera app on the phone comes with many settings and options. You can easily switch between photo and video mode with the click of a button. Videos can be recorded 640X480. The camera focus is not as accurate and there is some blur in the photos.

Call quality and other features: The call quality is almost on the same line as other phones on the market. The earpiece is loud and clear, but the mouthpiece picks up unnecessary external noise. So if you are in traffic and you try to talk on this phone, the chances of the other person hearing traffic noises are higher. Battery life is something that leaves a smile on your face. It comes with a 1,230 mAh battery that lasts for almost 2 days depending on its use. You get the normal HTC headphones and it’s a Beats Audio phone. The speaker phone gives you clean sound and will not irritate you. The built-in stock browser isn’t that great for browsing the internet, so it’s always best to download Opera for quick processing.

Conclusion: HTC Desire C is definitely a good low-end smartphone and is an ideal phone for those who don’t want to spend a lot on smartphones or are looking for their first smartphone.
