The importance of good underwear

Why do we need good underwear?

Many people are afraid to buy underwear. Imagine walking from store to store, only to find things that are too big, too small, or just not for you. What. A. Drag. And it is true that it can be. But that applies to shopping in general. Just as you have days off in your daily life, you will have days off when you go shopping. There will be times when you find everything you need and everything fits perfectly and there will be bad days when you stand in the dressing room, look in the mirror and can’t think of anything but “ugh”.

However, no matter how unenthusiastic we may be about investing the time and money to find good underwear, it’s a crucial addition to an investment. Some men, and women too, I might add, like to wear underwear until the strings basically turn to dust. “A few holes here and there, who cares.” Know? Others take their underwear just as seriously as their regular clothes. They believe that they should look and fit well, as well as match each other and the outfit above. Whoever you are, it’s important to make sure you have decent underwear in your wardrobe. When underwear, whether it’s panties, bras, or shorts, start to lose their shape and start to turn yellow, it should have been thrown away yesterday. Poorly fitting undergarments do nothing for your body and can even make your outfit look bad on you, even if it’s your size and all.

What do we need and how much?

So, let’s take a closer look at this. There are many different types of underwear and you will have to find out which one suits you best. Go look in your wardrobe right now. Do you need new underwear? Then you’re in luck because right now it’s near impossible not to find a sale. What you need differs a bit if you have a feminine or masculine body, how active you are, and well, who you are as a person. Men do not need support as much as women. Women, in addition to panties, need a certain number of bras. Most of the time, these are said to be minimal:

  • 1-2 sports arms

  • 3 basic arms (1 black, 1 beige and 1 white)

  • 1 or 2 most elegant bras that make you feel great

  • 1-2 matching sets

  • 1-2 colorful arms to brighten your mood

Among bras, it’s important to have at least one push-up bra, one strapless bra, and one balconette bra because different styles are needed for different outfits and moods. For example, during your feminine time of the month, chances are you won’t be too keen on wearing a push-up bra because it will make you feel like your chest is just below your chin. When you’re wearing a strapless dress or blouse and don’t feel like going braless, a strapless bra is an absolute must. Unless you have a lot of chest strap, or a bra with wings. Thirdly, a balconette is a guarantee that your chest will look amazing. It pulls up and separates, it’s very comfortable and looks cute no matter what the size of the chest. Other bras and styles you may need differ based on your chest size. For a very small chest, an underwired bra is not always needed. Non-wired triangle bras can look very flattering and sexy, and padded/gel bras can be a godsend. For a larger chest, the full bra, t-shirt bra, and balconette are the most comfortable and supportive options.

How do you know your size?

Well, when it comes to your butt size, it’s whatever your pant size is. When it comes to your chest, it’s another story. You have to measure yourself and do it precisely.

First measure under the bust and then measure where the bust is fullest (never wear a padded bra when doing this). Take the measurement under your bust and match it to the width of a bra. If it is an odd number, for example 73, round it up to 75. Then subtract your bust measurement minus your bust measurement and you will have a number that is the cm difference between the two.

  • A difference of 13 cm is an A cup

  • A difference of 15 cm is a B cup

  • A difference of 17 cm is a C cup

  • A difference of 19 cm is a D cup

  • A difference of 21 cm is an E cup

  • A difference of 24 cm is an F cup

  • A difference of 26 cm is a G cup

  • A difference of 30 cm is an H cup

  • A difference of 32 cm is an I cup

If you just can’t get into the “mood” or get enough shopping inspiration, think of it this way. Do you want to look like a knockout with the body of the early 20-something version of you, no matter how old you really are? Or do you want to look like you’re 60 years old, when you’re in your early 20s?

That’s what I thought.

Now get moving and hit the sales!
