Wake Up America: Isn’t a Sustainable World More Important Than Short-Term Profits?

admin 0

If you believe, it is the responsibility of each person to leave our world better, safer and more sustainable for future generations, it is time for you to make your voice heard and let your political leaders know that you will hold them accountable. , for any damage, they do! Whether this is caused, by negligence, denial, lack of vision or greed, self-interest and any personal / political agenda, the bottom line must be, to demand, those whom we elect, select and / or promote. positions of public leadership, taking personal responsibility to think outside the box and do the right thing for humanity, both today and in the future. Mike Bloomberg warned that unless / until the next president we elect, in 2020, recognizes and addresses the very real threat of climate change, other things really won’t matter! Should concern us all, President Trump articulates a message, denying climate change (and, even poking fun at the concept, involved), despite the fact that, almost all scientists and experts in the field, warn us, to take this in seriously, before it’s too late! This article will briefly attempt to consider, examine, review, and discuss why the sustainability of our planet is far more important and relevant than any potential short-term economic benefits and / or political and self-interest. motivated, agenda!

1. Is climate change real ?: Although I am not a scientist, nor an expert in this field, those who are seem to be convinced that it is. I think, perhaps, because this threat was originally termed, as global warming, rather than climate change, those who either did not believe, or it was not their best interest, found it easier and simpler, to bury, their heads, in the sand! The ice at the Earth’s poles has melted substantially due to rising temperatures over the years. The long-term impact of that can be an imminent threat, for many coastal areas, due to rising tides, etc. Remember, denying its existence or procrastinating will not make this threat go away.

two. Clean air and water: We have been warned for decades that we need to pay more attention to making our air and water cleaner and safer. Many of our past presidents have taken this responsibility seriously, but the current one does not seem to care or deny the need to protect our environment. When President Trump signs Executive Orders allowing the dumping of waste from coal mining, etc., it appears that he is doing so to serve his personal political agenda and his own interests. Appealing to his main supporters, in the short term, his actions endanger his health and well-being. Also, denying the relationship between car emissions and clean air has a major impact on air quality. Many illnesses, including pneumonia, COPD, etc., are made worse by exposing certain people to pollution.

Unless the next president, which we elect, takes this seriously and declares the equivalent of a war on climate change, etc., future generations will be at risk! Wake up America and demand actionable action and solutions / approach, rather than denials and procrastination!
