Email Newsletter Creation: How often should I send an email to Mail?

If you’re creating email newsletters, you’re probably wondering how often you should contact your list. You’ll hear all sorts of responses from internet marketers, and while there’s no right answer, you can be oriented toward the number of emails that work optimally for you.

Q: Are there definitely wrong answers to the question?

A: Yes, but it is neither once a day nor twice a week.

If you wanted to do everything wrong, you should send emails whenever you feel like it. This could mean twice a day for three days, then once a day for five days, then once a month, then twice a day.

This would be a wrong way to do it.

You have to train your list to wait for your emails, and you do it by being consistent.

Choose in advance how often you will communicate with your list. And then follow up regularly.

Q: Which is better: twice a day, twice a week, or any other number of times?

A: The answer to that answer depends entirely on how much information you are willing to provide your readers.

If you have enough to share and if you can write in an interesting way, you can communicate with them twice a day and they will still be eager to hear from you.

Test? Daegan Smith writes twice a day on his list, and I’ve personally read comments from people who swear that they always looked forward to receiving these emails, and always opened and read them.

Q: Do I need to send free information or sales pitches?

A: You can send both. Daegan Smith sends an email with information and another with a promotion every day. Others send two or three emails with information and then one with a promotion.

I don’t subscribe to the point of view that says to send a promotional offer in every email.

Q: What if I’ve decided to write once a day and one day I don’t feel like writing?

A: Very bad. You have to write anyway, unless you simply send a short message saying that you weren’t feeling in the mood and instead put off playing World of Warcraft or going to the beach. Your subscribers would also identify with that.

Q: What should I aim for? A relationship with my list, or get a source of income?

A: One does not rule out the other. Otherwise. If you build a relationship with your list, you’re much more likely to make money from it as well.
