Frieze Carpet: Not Your Parents’ Lint

admin 0

When I show customers the new generation of shaggy rugs now called “Frieze” (pronounced free zay) and tell them that Frieze is the modern take on shaggy rugs, or they scream in horror over shaggy rug memories of his parents from the 70s when they were psychedelic. colors were in, like flared jeans, VW wagon, and afro picks, or they’re too young to remember those good old days.

Today’s Frieze rug is very different from your parents’ fluff. First, the colors have been toned down quite a bit, and second, for the most part, the length of the carpet is not the length your father was when he had to rake the carpet instead of vacuuming it. Today’s frieze rug comes in solid color (primarily earth tones) and speckled.

When I started selling Frieze rugs, customers would place it in their basement instead of Berber, but now we are getting a request to place Frieze rugs in the main areas of the house.

Frieze carpet is now being installed in model and custom homes and is almost always placed in the flooring sample rotation for new construction.

Frieze is made primarily of two fabrics, PET (recycled plastics) and Nylon. Obviously, PET is a bit cheaper and more environmentally friendly. Nylon is softer and more durable. Whatever the fabric, customers enjoy your Frieze rug. Since this rug is not made to be a tightly woven rug, you will find that it is probably better to use a shorter length rug than a longer length rug. Over time, your carpet will look better and recover faster as you and your guest walk on your new carpet.

Keep in mind that most rugs are not guaranteed on stairs due to the intense pressure put on them when climbing stairs, this will probably be the first place where wear patterns will appear. You can help delay this by vacuuming the stairs more often.

If you have a more contemporary style and taste, I think the Frieze rug can be a good consideration for your next flooring purchase.
