Bathing a baby before bed can relax him and help him sleep. Bathing my baby is becoming one of my favorite activities. In this article, I want to share the basic tips on how to bathe your baby.

Make sure the room is warm enough. Prepare everything you need before starting the bath, so you don’t have to leave your baby. Here’s what you need: a clean washcloth, baby soap, baby shampoo, towels, and a bathtub filled with warm water. Use your elbow or a bath thermometer to test the water. It should be comfortably warm, not too hot and not too cold. Do not add soap to the water as it can dry out the baby’s skin.

It will be very slippery in the bathroom; You may need to use a special mat in the bottom of the tub.

Gently take the baby to the bathroom area. Take off your baby clothes.

Wash the baby’s face only with water. Gently wipe the baby all over. Wash your arms, legs, back, and neck with soap and water. To wash the diaper area for girls, wash from front to back.

Use your finger covered with a cloth to clean the baby’s ear. Use the other part of the cloth to clean the area around the eyes. Start from the inner corner of the eye and wash towards the ear.

Wet your baby’s head to wash his hair and scalp. Add soap or baby shampoo to the washcloth, apply to the head. You can do this only once or twice a week.

Rinse the washcloth and rinse the baby. Begin with the face and last the diaper area. Put the baby in the bathtub. Wrap it in a towel and pat it dry. Put on a clean diaper. Make sure to completely dry the diaper area before putting on the diaper. Dress the baby. Brush her hair.

Never leave your baby alone in the water, not even for a few seconds. If you have to answer the phone or the doorbell, wrap the baby in a towel and take him with you.

If it is the first time you bathe your baby, it is best to ask your husband or partner to ensure the bathing process.

Talk to your baby and encourage interaction. Your baby will enjoy bath time if you enjoy it too. Bathing a baby should be a relaxing time for both you and your baby.
