Special Diabetic Brew – An Easy Way To Lower Blood Glucose Levels

admin 0

The first class of diabetes drugs for people with type II appeared only 55 years ago. These drugs and many others can stimulate the pancreas to make more insulin. Unfortunately, they are expensive and have undesirable side effects on the body as well. You may be wondering if there are some medicinal plants available that can also stimulate insulin production. Let’s see how eucalyptus can treat diabetics.

Active compounds of eucalyptus

Almost 745 species of eucalyptus around the world are listed by different Latin names. Eucalyptus Globulus also known as ‘Blue Gum’ is the most widely used species in medicine. Its leaves contain chemicals such as flavonoids (antioxidant agents), tannins (with anti-inflammatory properties) and essential oil. Scientists have already identified about 20 components in the volatile oil. The main one is cineole or eucalyptol which has strong antiseptic properties.

Medicinal benefits

You don’t have to be a pharmacist to list the main medicinal applications of eucalyptus. Eucalyptus treats the respiratory tract (in cases of bronchitis, cough, flu, sinusitis, asthma etc …) and the skin (in cases of arthritis and wounds). It is also a good insect repellent.

But did you know that eucalyptus can treat diabetes? The healthy effects of eucalyptus have been studied in mice with experimentally induced diabetes. In summary, it appears that its extracts can increase the insulin production of mice and lower blood glucose levels.

How to use eucalyptus to treat diabetes?

Boil 15 grams of dried leaves (the globulus species) in a liter of water for fifteen minutes and drink this ‘special infusion for diabetics’ 3 times a day.

Will that natural treatment be enough to keep my blood sugar at the right level?

Not completely! But this eucalyptus infusion can be very useful as a complementary cure for diabetes. It is important to say that although eucalyptus is a natural product, it is not harmless at all! There are some contraindications and interactions with some medications. Please, if you want to start a treatment with such an alternative medicine, consult a doctor first.
