Take a hike on Mount Kenya via the Naromoro route

This is the fastest way to get to the base of the mountain. It is also one of the steepest and most dangerous routes. To avoid many problems even with the change in altitude, a good physical condition is essential. Batian and Nelion peaks can be seen vividly from Mackinder Camp, which is hiked up through the Teleki Valley. A stop at Mackinders Hut is a must. Here you will have an excellent and luxurious accommodation. On the first day, you will be taken from Nairobi to the slopes of Mount Kenya. You will enjoy the view of the coffee and pineapple plantations. This trip will take approximately 4 hours. You will have lunch in the city of Naromoro and then start the 3-hour rain forest walk to the Met Station which is 3048m above sea level. You will have dinner here and then spend the night.

On the second day after breakfast, you will continue the journey to the top of the mountain. 5 to 6 hours later, you will arrive at Mackinders Camp where you will have lunch and spend the night. This place offers a spectacular view of the Batian and Nelion peaks. The camp is located at 4300m above sea level. On the third day, around 3 am, the ascent to Lenana will begin to be there at sunrise. You will be able to enjoy the most wonderful site while watching the sun rise from this peak. The walk lasts about 3 hours.

From this point, you can see Mount Kilimanjaro, the Indian Ocean and Mount Elgon. Descend to Mackinders Camp for breakfast and continue walking to the Met Station for dinner and overnight. On the 4th day after breakfast, yopu will walk through the mountain forest which normally takes around 2 hours to Naromoro town where you will take transport back to Nairobi.
