Write at least 1,000 words every day for a week

Now why would anyone want to do that: write 1000 words every day for a week?

Well, you wouldn’t if you’re an established writer; you’re already pumping out a lot more than that on an average day.

But you might want to give it a try if you’re just starting out or if you’ve been writing for a while and still struggling to break through.

However, not just any old 1000 words because that wouldn’t make sense; 1000 words tagged with the premise that presupposes that you have identified a topic, you have researched the topic; you know your subject inside out, whether it’s in the realm of fiction or nonfiction.

When you push yourself and cut 1,000 words every day for seven days, you’ll find in Week 2 that 2,000 words a day is doable, then 3,000, 4,000, 5,000, 6,000; what.

And as the weeks go by, not only will your output improve, but the quality of your writing as well.

But here is the real crackler…

Along with your ever-increasing output, there will be a proportional decrease in information overload, freeing your subconscious to work on new ideas, new concepts, new projects, and soon the fruits of your creativity will come flying at you in all directions.

So, essentially, this is what you get when you decide to write 1,000 words every day for a week:

1. Your production will automatically increase in the coming weeks;

2. The quality of your writing will improve dramatically;

3. Information overload will subside and give way to a fusion of new creativity.

This is the formula I used at the beginning of my own writing career and currently I produce around 10,000 words every day, only 1,000 of which can be directly related to a specific book project; most of my productivity is scattered among articles, press releases, web copy, and the like.

But everything is gray for the mill; the mill, the catalyst, the machine room that creates the harvest; your overall creative output.
