Candida diet breakfast with vegetables, tofu, nuts and brown rice

I eat vegetables for candida diet breakfast most of the time. It’s steamed broccoli or kale. I also drink juice in the morning. I juice green and red leafy lettuces along with celery, ginger, dandelion greens, kale, garlic, radish, or whatever mix it is for the day. I never add carrots or beets. I also make a nut-free granola with oats, puffed millet, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, flax seeds, puffed corn, and coconut. I toss it all a couple of times with a little olive oil and salt and cook it on a pizza pan for about 25 minutes at 275 degrees.

There’s no reason you can’t add nuts. Just not because my son is allergic to them. I also add the flax seeds afterwards. They are not cooked and we eat it dry without soy milk. I drink a lot of tea in the morning with Stevia for a sweet fix.

I have been making tofu with tahini cream sauce which is really good. Just skip the tofu. In a separate cup, mix about 4 tablespoons of the Tahini and enough water to make it a thick but watery sauce, stir it into the tofu. You can add ginger. I added ginger and garlic today with fresh coriander and then sprinkled black sesame seeds. It was very good!

You can also eat meat. However, I usually don’t do it in the morning. I have more energy when I drink juice or eat vegetables for breakfast. I buy the turkey jerky for those times when I just need a little protein before collapsing and eating a ton of carbs, because even though I stay away from sugar, I occasionally crash and stuff myself with a pack of rice cakes or a bag of chips , but eating some protein helps keep me going and curbs that craving. The turkey jerky I buy is made by Shelton’s.

There is a very good brown rice cereal called Brown Rice Cream, made by Erewhon. It comes in a white box with orange lettering and a color image of the cereal in a turquoise Fiestaware bowl. Cook it in water; it only takes a few minutes. Throw in a slice of butter and a few grains of sea salt, and it’s not bad at all. There are also quinoa and buckwheat cereals to cook for breakfast. Of course, if you’re on stage one of the diet, stick with brown rice. In later stages, the other grains can be added. They really are nice, especially on a cool morning.
